चार्टर्ड ने भारत में स्टैंडर्ड चार्टर्ड बैंक की नई मुख्य कार्यकारी
अधिकारी के रूप में जरीन दारुवाला की नियुक्ति की घोषणा की है। जरीन
वर्तमान में आईसीआईसीआई बैंक में होलसेल बैंकिंग ग्रुप के प्रेसिडेंट पद पर
कार्यरत हैं। उन्होंने 25 साल भारतीय बैंकिंग उद्योग में कार्य किया है।
वह सुनील कौशल का स्थान लेंगी।

3. Union Minister of State
for Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, was designated as the Disaster Risk
Reduction (DRR) Champion for the Asia Region by the United Nations
Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR). Rijiju also became the
first Indian to be conferred with this honour.

4. Marriott
International Inc., a global hotel group announced to acquire Starwood
Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. for $12.2 billion to create the
world’s largest hotel chain. It will have top hotel brands including
Sheraton, Ritz Carlton, Starwood and the Autograph Collection. Marriott
is predominantly US-based hotel group.

समूह मैरियट इंटरनेशनल इंक. ने स्टारवुड होटल्स एण्ड रिसॉर्ट्स के व्यवसाय
का 12.2 अरब डॉलर के मूल्य पर अधिग्रहण करने की घोषणा कर दी है जिससे यह
होटल समूह विश्व का सबसे बड़ा होटल समूह बन जायेगा। मैरियट के पास शेराटन,
रिट्ज़ कार्लटन, स्टारवुड तथा ऑटोग्राफ कलेक्शन जैसे होटल ब्राण्ड होंगे।
मैरियट मुख्य रूप से अमेरिका स्थित होटल समूह है।
5. Prithvi
Raj Singh, the Managing Trustee of Jal Bhagirathi Foundation has been
elected as a Governor of the World Water Council. Singh was elected at
Marseille in France during its General Assembly Council, which was
attended by delegates from 160 countries.

भागीरथी फाउंडेशन के प्रबंध न्यासी पृथ्वी राज सिंह को विश्व जल परिषद के
गवर्नर के रूप में निर्वाचित किया गया है। सिंह को मार्सिले, फ्रांस में
उसकी महासभा परिषद के दौरान, जिसमें 160 देशों के प्रतिनिधियों ने भाग लिया
था, में निर्वाचित किया गया।
6. The
Rajasthan government signed 37 Memorandum of Understanding worth Rs.
2,349 crore with private companies in the tourism sector. These projects
once operational are expected to create employment for 6,670 people.

सरकार ने पर्यटन के क्षेत्र में निजी कंपनियों के साथ 2,349 करोड़ रुपये
मूल्य के 37 समझौता ज्ञापनों पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं। एक बार संचालन में आने

7. Ushir
Pandit-Durant, an Indian- American woman judge has become the first
recipient of a US public service award in recognition of her
contributions in the field of law. Queens Senior Assistant District
Attorney and newly elected Civil Court Judge Pandit-Durant was honoured
with the ‘South Asian Public Service Award’ by the Office of Immigrant
Affairs under Queens District Attorney Richard Brown.

8. Senior
journalist Hemendra Narain passed away in New Delhi. He was 65. The
senior journalist started his career with news agency UNI in Patna.
Narain had also written many books including 25 years on-Nellie still
haunts, a chronicled book on the infamous Nellie massacre in Assam in
1983.
वरिष्ठ पत्रकार हेमेंद्र नारायण का नई दिल्ली
में 65 वर्ष की आयु में निधन हो गया। वरिष्ठ पत्रकार ने पटना में समाचार
एजेंसी यूएनआई के साथ अपने कैरियर की शुरुआत की। नारायण ने वर्ष 1983 में
नरसंहार पर लिपिबद्ध किताब, 25 इयर्स ऑन- नेली स्टिल हंट्स सहित कई किताबें
लिखीं।
9. A delegation led by the
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh left for Beijing on a six-day
official visit to China. The visit would help in deepening of mutual
understanding and trust and it is intended to further strengthen the
tradition of mutual learning and better understanding from each other.
